What is the best mat cutter for the price? This will be a small shop. I would like to buy a new one or slightly used. I've looked at the Wizard and like theirs.
I'm not sure of what other compaines make the CMC's.

I would say, if you can visit a vendor or other shop that has one you can look at. I would really try to "test drive" one. I think this is one of those "Coke or Pepsi" questions.

I had an older Valiani and it was built well and worked well, but the program sucked. In Vegas they said they were coming out with a new program.

I went with the Wizard and it is nice. I really think the Valiani is built better, but the Wizard's program is very easy to use. I have no experiance with the Gunnars.

Good luck!

If you must get a CMC, I liked the Valiani, but there's no substitue for a hand cut mat. My Keeton served me faithfully for 30 years and all I ever had to replace was one spring and the blades.
