Cincinnati
Hello all, I'm new to the site, so please be patient with me. I've been a picture framer in Cincinnati Ohio for fourteen years now, always working for someone, always knowing I could do it on my own. I decided to make the leap and open my own shop downtown, the only problem is I need equipment and fast, I'm scheduled to open on November 1. Right now I really need a Frame Square saw, lots of other stuff, but the saw is crucial. If anyone out there has a line on a used one PLEASE get in touch with me as soon as humanly possible. I'd love it if it was relatively local, and I'd drop everything to come pick it up in my van.

Richard is correct in my opinion. Do not tie your monry up in machinery that you will use here and there. Start off ordering chops. See where it gets you. It is better to order some chops and do well, then pay $4,000 for a saw and sell it in a few months. Take it lightly, get the essentials and worry about the rest when you know exactly what you want and how much you can pay.

Good luck and kick butt!!!

FrameSquare Saw For Sale

Waring,

I have a floor model FrameSquare that I could probably be talked into selling. I've had it for about four years, but it has very limited use. I had a small retail shop for about four year. However, I now own a wholesale/commericial framing operation in Titusville, PA and for the last two years have only used it to cut samples. I also have an extra blade and if I do some digging could find the extension piece that also goes with it.

Please feel free to visit my site (www.elegantchoiceframing.com) and email me at ecf@elegantchoiceframing.com.

Sincerely,

Tom Hancock, CPF

P.S. I'll be around this weekend if you'd like to coordinate a meeting.

I know of two Morso choppers for sale, but one is up at Lake Tahoe and the other here in Carson City. Come to think about it, I might sell mine, it's an older one, and buy one of the newer ones.

Nah...the older ones are just as good as the newer ones...what was I thinkin'? Anyway....I know of two Morso choppers for sale here. Long drive from Ohio though.

I would echo what Richard & Patrick said about ordering chops rather than "rushing" out to buy a piece of equipment. Even though you have 14 years experience as a framer, perhaps you've never tried other methods of cutting moulding, like chop saws or Morso type choppers. We all seem to have a comfort level w/ what we own, ;) but it's good to check out other options.
