I feel like a total idiot to ask, but...

...does anyone know how to move the Properties palette in Dreamweaver 3 running on Vista? Mine seems to be locked into place, and half of it is hiding under the taskbar of Vista, which does not seem to move out of the way like XP and 98. All the other palettes move around nicely, just the Properties palette seems locked.

I really feel like a total idiot because stuff like this, I should know! I wonder if it's a Vista issue conflicting with the older Dreamweaver. Hubs and I never had to deal with Vista -- we jumped from XP Pro to 7.

It's not a huge deal -- I can manually edit the properties in the code, but it just takes so much longer.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. And no, buying Dreamweaver CS isn't an option.

--She who tried to get Photoshop 4 to run on Vista. Yeah, I'm that stubborn.

I'm probably not the best person to answer since I haven't used dreamweaver in many years (and I use windows 7).

However, I have had lots of experience with the taskbar conflicting with windows since I run with the taskbar at the top of the screen. Usually unlocking and locking the taskbar is enough to get partially hidden windows to move out of the way. Sometimes I have needed to unlock the taskbar and move it out of the way.

There may be a way to lock / unlock pallets in dreamweaver as well.

Another though is that if the main dreamweaver window is larger than your screen, it could be partially hidden. Maximizing it should make it fill the desktop.

For me software never loads exactly the same way twice. I've noticed quirks in photoshop and dreamweaver and others. I have one copy of dreamweaver installed on my laptop and I cannot move that pallet to save my life. Is it in the bottom left? Mine is and there it stays! I'd love to hear a solution.

Jim: I very rarely maximise my Dreamweaver, simply because my monitors are always set much larger than 1024 x 768.

Jay: That's EXACTLY where mine is! I think I've figured out a way around it -- I ended up clicking "arrange floating palettes" under the "Windows" menu and it butted the Properties palette to the taskbar. It still won't move, but at least I have my advanced properties again.

That's wild that we both have the same problem. Like I said it was only my laptop and so I tossed it up to an instalation quirk. It never bothered me so bad that I reinstalled the program becuase I use that pallet so often anyway.
