Just did my update and on the bottom of the invoice screen it's telling me to use digital custom. Don't get me wrong I love lifesaver, but I don't want advertising to start creeping up on all of my screens. I use digital custom for any restoration jobs I need to farm out because I don't have the time, and they do an excellent job. I just don't like the idea of my customers seeing all of the advertising also. I have an extra lcd mounted to the side of the design counter facing the customer, so they see what I see.

I guess if my customers were seeing my screen, I wouldn't like that either ( I have LS ). Many that have dual setups, like yours have the ability to either keep the Viz screen up for customer or have it go to a slide show and only have the POS on their side. I wouldn't like my customers seeing all of the price break downs along with item #'s as I type them in. Also makes it too easy for them to copy it all down.

I have dual computers and monitors at the work station, so that the POS is on my side and the Viz / slideshow on the 27" wall mount is visible to both of us.

Thanks Bob, you are right - a click of the button on the config screen and the advertising is gone. I did try showing a different image on the customers screen but was never truly happy with the result. I don't mind my customers seeing a breakdown of what I charge so that's never been an issue.

As someone who allows the customer to view the screen, I would appreciate having an options setting to turn this off especially considering that I don't use Digital Custom.

how about an option, for you dual screeners, to allow the order screen to show on the 2nd screen but WITHHOLD the detail $$$ amounts(only show the tax/total $$$) ???????????? not sure how 'doable' that would be but seems ok on the surface.

Hey Johnny - guess you missed this post:

...tho I don't understand why it was there in the first place...

Pop-up ad revenue I "understand", but this is a paid for product, is it not?

paid for, unless you got it for free.

Actually I don't know if it is a pop up ad, that was just my cynical first thought when I saw it a while back. So before we "hate" all over LS for "selling us out", let's give the company the benefit of a doubt. Maybe they just wanted to show us features we don't typically know are there... (and make a buck off it as well ;) )

Oh where is Mike Labbe to set us straight!

JFrame, thank Mike, I just relayed the info I learned from him.

And it was months ago that I complained, when was the last time you folks updated? Or have you been living with a thorn all along? (rhetorical question, no need to answer ;) )

Bob has a good explanation and understanding. Bob asked about this in the Lifesaver Tips & Tricks thread last year.

I believe the messages have been there for more than a year now, and can be disabled; if so inclined. They aren't pop-up ads, though. Very discrete, and optional.

The messages appear on the unused "image preview window", on a blank invoice screen. (where your art image will go, after populating line 1 of the invoice)

From what I have seen, the messages have been from the industry partners who are making it possible to offer the program for free. (Larson-Juhl, Tru-Vue, DigitalCustom, PowerPay, etc) They are promoting things such as free modules/features that are built into the program, and can be clicked for details.

With a dual monitor setup and FrameVue, it's not necessary to show the measurements, moulding/mat item numbers, workorder comments, extras, and price breakdown on the customer's (public) screen. Customers will more likely to question things such as the cost of labor or the cost of the glazing, and more likely to write down the part #s. Show all this is of course an option, but it's also possible to keep this info on the private screen only - and just send the final (comparison) results to the customer's side. I can give instructions to accomplish this, if desired.

Best regards
Mike (back from vacation!)
