next too you
OK I never knew this, but you can get personal emails in here. I just looked under my profile and saw I had messages from about four months ago. Sorry if I did not respond to any of you out there. Is there a way to see when you have a message besides looking at the profile?

Thanks for helping the slow guy....ahhhhh duhhhhh!!!!

Sorry again for not responding when you folks answered some of my questions personally on the profile thing.

Dennis, Go into your "My Profile" Click on "update profile". Read down the list to the bottom group and put a dot in "Be notified by e-mail when I receive a private message."

... That's … okay … Dennis. … We … can … take … our … time … when … we … talk … to … you … so … you … can … under … stand … us.

:D

that's OK, dennis, I have been on the Grumble alot longer than you and I just answered a couple of private emails that I got last year!! And I DO have that little box checked to email me if I have new private email.

So join the "Duuuh" group, you're not alone.

P.S. We aren't the only ones, dns, there are 7 of my outgoing emails that are marked "unread by recepient" so there are others out there who aren't aware/checking their private emails either.

Dennis, I like your avatar.

If someone has their profile set up to be notified by regular email of any private mail, they can read the entire text of the private mail without ever looking at the profile. The message will continue to say "Unread" though it has, in fact, been read.

Private email is one of the few enhancements on The Grumble that I don't really like. It takes a few extra steps to respond to a private email, and I think it's only really useful for someone who doesn't want to list his/her email address on TG.
