How would you attach LP album in its cover to a mat?

How would you attach LP album in its cover to a mat? I have a customer that wants 12 per frame.
my best solution is to put a small frame around each one then we could easily mount it.

Why would that make a difference?
I would cut two mats with 12 openings, bevels facing each other from one mat to next
Place albums in it, you might need to create deeper sink depending on height. Then cut one more mat to hold it in place
 
How about a 12 opening fabric wrapped fibermat in 1/4", 3/8" or 1/2" thickness to created the depth to sink mount the albums?
