I have already done a search, but I am looking for simple, clear directions on the best way to splice two matboards together. This is a background for a hockey jersey, so I think we can hide most of the splice. I just need some advice on how to go about joining the two matboards together in the best possible (and easiest) way. Thank you grumblers...

When I splice mats, I cut one with the bevel and one with a reverse bevel so that they overlap, and then I glue/drymount them onto a large piece of foamcore or gatorboard (depending on the weight) If I use white glue (acid free) I weight them down with a piece of scrap plexi (I have just for that purpose) with glass boxes on top and I let it sit overnight.

The best way of course is to wrap the mats with fabric instead of splicing, but not all customers want to pay that price.
