I'm doing a photography exhibit at a local art gallery in Ottawa at the end of January and wanted to promote the event. Does anyone have any advice on how I should proceed ?
I'm displaying 60-70 black and white enlarged polaroids of portraits I took of the truckers at the protests in Ottawa last February.
I have a website and created a promotional poster and plan on distributing them to local coffee shops, hotels, etc. But I'd really like to get the word out to local newspapers etc. If I write a press release, how do I distribute it - cold calling ?
I know the gallery should be taking care of this... but it's complicated... so I decided to take care of it myself.
