I'm confused. Just recently learned from a Rep. that Tru Vue Perfect Vue & Image Perfect glasses have been discontinued several months ago.

Guess I just want to know how to stay more current of these changes with products & distrbutors. Shouldn't distributers/reps be informing us, sending out discontinued lists???Am I being bypassed because I'm a home-based business.?
Tell me how this works & what do I do to get the "memo" when it happens!

Thanks, Sharon

I am not home based, and we don't get the news either!

news to me too and we have a shop in a strip center.

So now what? UV clear, reflection control, AR and museum? Seems a pity 'cause the iron-free stuff really was clear. Gues we go to plexi for those that want true clarity????

Perfect Vue discontinued? Someone better tell Michael's that, it's their "star" glass!

After a visit to the Guardian Glass plant in Michigan 18 months ago, I am under the impression that all glass being sent to TV and others is all water white (low iron). Of the 2 furnaces there, one is producing low iron glass.

I have no info about Michaels and what they are selling or what the employees actually know what they are using. It would seem to me that Perfect Vue has become redundant.

Hi Sharon,
Joining your local PPFA chapter is a great way to get to know other framers in the area. The Great Lakes Chapter is your chapter if you choose to join, currently PPFA has a special sign up fee of $50 if you have never been a member (or have not been one in 5 years). We have 3 general meetings a year, our next meeting is March 13 in Lansing. I would be happy to get you the info you need to sign up or if you have any questions feel free to call me.

Image Perfect has been unavailable here for about a year, and I have a vague recollection about it being discontinued. But I'm not sure of that. I wouldn't buy it anyway, now that Museum Glass and AR are available at competitive prices. Those products are easier to clean and handle, and they are widely available.

Conservation PerfectVue is the standard glazing for Michaels, and according to Tru-Vue yesterday, it is not being discontinued.

However, a distributor may discontinue any product, which could be miscontrued to mean it is no longer manufactured. Might that be the case here?

Also, some reps have a nasty habit of starting or perpetuating rumors about competitors' products. For example, three is a rumor that 3M #889 double-sided tape is discontinued. No. It was being demonstrated in the 3M booth at WCAF. 3M #888 is replaced by #887, which is the same tape on a different length roll. But the tape is still available.
