How to adjust SteelTrak head counter balance?

Received my SteelTrak Ebay purchase today and all looks good. These larger purchases make me a little nervous.
The only thing I have not been able to figure out is how to tighten up the counter balance so the cutting head does not free fall.
Customer service was closed by the time I figured I needed help.
I have the manual but it says nothing. Anyone have one of these that knows the answer?

I have a Keencut 5000. Bought it used 2 years ago. Got it up to cutting 1 month ago.
It may have a counterweight. If so, it isn't attached.
If you figure yours out, let me know.
