Found this in my pop's inventory. I have no clue on how to use it. Stamped on it is "R & D FRAMING CO. FORT COLLINS CO.

It appears to be 3 90 degree angles.
Not sure of its intended use.

Just a guess but it looks like a jig that would be used in concert with a mat guide on a manual mat cutter. A left and right 30 degree and a center 45 degree notch for cutting polygonal openings.

That's a neat looking whatsamacallit.
Another defunct framing tool I can try to recreate with my 3D printer is what that is!:p

No idea what it's for.
I'm sure you have already tried to Google the company?
I did a quick one and didn't find that name in Colorado.
Isn't there a way to do a search by image? What's that called?

I think Wally's on the right track. That tool looks awfully familiar...If I remember correctly, the straight edge goes against the mat guide in your bench-mounted mat cutter, and the three notches can be used to position your mat blank in any of the three angles for precise cutting of angled windows.

For example, if you want to make a diamond-shaped window in a mat, use this tool to position the mat at the proper angle, and cut as usual.

It would be helpful to know how big this object is.
