This is the first time I have to use a linen liner and gold fillet. What is the technique?

Thanks!

My Framer uses ATG to attach fillets to liners or moldings. The artwork once put in place will hold the fillet in place properly.
Important not to get ATG residue on the face of the fillet however. He will run a strip of ATG on the outside lip of the fillet, fold it over (as it is wider than the fillet) and then trim off the remainder of the ATG from the back.

Been doing it for years without a problem. Just don't get ATG on the face of the fillet and it works fine.

I use fabric glue for all my fillets. A thin bead will suffice, and then use binder clips to hold the fillet in place until the glue dries.
Add a strip of mat board to guard the fabric on the face of the liner.

Dry fitting the fillet, and joining it prior to fitting makes the job a little easier.

I plan on attaching it before cutting the miter. I'll try the tape and glue to see which works best. thx

Good plan, my money is on the glue.

Similar to what we recommend for attaching wood spacers, I would suggest considering using a combination of strips of actual glue, and strips of ATG/Fillet tape. Pressure sensitive adhesives will almost (or not almost) always fail, eventually. The ATG can hold it until the glue dries.

As someone famous once said: "The important thing is to learn one new thing every day. Therefore, if you have learned one thing today, you can consider having fulfilled your destiny, and go home". Or something like that.

I've always used fillet tape, it's the right width and made for this purpose. I don't have to wait for glue to dry or clamp anything. Quick and easy.
