How accurate is my POS database?

I’ve invested a lot of time and money into Wizard Retail Management Suite.

One of the main reasons I purchased this software was to help keep track of discontinued mats and mouldings.

Today I discover a database flaw.

Bainbriddge 4185 was discontinued in August 2007 and is still listed in the program as available.

I called Wizard and according to them, it is listed as available as long as their suppliers have inventory to sell.

In other words, as long as one supplier, somewhere in the country, still has one old mat in inventory the database will not be updated.

Someone correct me if I’m wrong.

Is this the same system used in other POS systems?

Will this be a big problem or a small problem?

Right now I have to call a customer about the three frames we just designed.

You bring up some good points.

Personally, I wish that each individual company that sells matboard would have their prices published..the same way they do their mouldings...rather than depending on the master Bainbridge or Crescent lists, etc.

What I'm paying from my supplier may not close enough to how B has it listed....

I'm on Lifesaver instead of Wizard, though.

Janet my regular supplier, DonMar has numbers for all the Neilsen metal frames and numbers for the Peterboro mat line. But they use the Crescent and Bainbridge numbers. I don't know how Larson does it. Go to Mats and add LJ as a mat vendor. then browse and see if they have LJ specific numbering system.

That could be a problem.

FrameReady list something as disc when the data coming from the manufacturer says it is disc.

Why would you do it any other way?

I think all vendors should keep up with whether or not its discontinued. I'd want accurate pricing from the vendor from which I'm actually purchasing the matboard.

Right now, I'm not getting mats from Larson, though.
