PFG, Picture Framing God
This isn't typical Andy Warhol subject matter but I feel there are elements of his work here. He used to consider grocery stores his "pallette". I'm sure if he were alive he might have done one similar. Andy was one of the first artists to blur the line between "high art" and "low art", which honestly in my eyes made everything I look at a piece of art. Thanks for helping me view the world that way Andy!
This whole project took only about 20 minutes from beginning to end. I let the art speak for itself and tried to not overpower it. I used a simple black parsons frame from Studio and added a very plain orange mat. The object is actually float mounted between glass, actually suspended might be a better word. The whole project measures 10x10 and reatiled out for $195.
I wasn't too sure how to proceed from a conservation point of view. Since it is a one of a kind item naturally fading over time is a concern. Unfortunately the items are sticking to the front and back of the glass. I suppose over time that will pose a problem as I can see sticking being a problem.
I am happy with the overall look and it feels good to be creating again........the plan is to fill my whole shop with this exact type of example of my work. I hope you enjoy looking at it as much as I did making it!
