I have the Object Box Insert template that I downloaded from Wizard. We want to use this as both a shadowbox and window mat. I have the window mat part designed separate from the Object box template.

What is the best way to integrate the two templates? I can't put the mat inside the object box as it is really an "opening". Should we do this as two separate steps?

We haven't officially done a shadowbox with the wizard yet, and I have to think that this can be done in one step...any thoughts?

Angela,

If we don't have an answer we don't answer. If no one answers, try Wizard on Monday.

So, if you don't know, then don't answer. No need to be snide...I just know some knowledgeable folks are online right now and some seem to be shadowboxin' kinds of people. Perhaps they are on Warped...

Thanks for your suggestion.

We ended up cutting the multiple openings first, making sure to increase the size to make the sides of the box and taping the fallouts all in, and then we used the wall cutter to score the edges. It ended up working great, but I wasn't confident enough to try the combination of the two.

It may seem alittle round about but this is how we do it (Wizard will un-doughtedly have a simpler way):

-Use template 613
opening size = shadow box bottom plus the height times 2
I use a 1.5" mat width just to save board
layers to 2
leave at .25"
click ok
toggle off the dynamic outsides
mat opening properties
change the opening size to the size of the bottom of the sb
set the bottom mat reveal to same as sb height and reverse bevel
mat opening peramiters
notch to height of sb
notch num to 1
mat properties
check "add float layer"
-goto the openings screen and drag in the opening you want, edit the size and drag it to the desired location as if you were doing a multi opening

goto cut

layer 1 is the float layer (it will not cut anything)
layer 2 is the bottom of the sb (set blade depth to a 2 ply)
layer 3 is the sb sides and the extra opening (set at 4 ply depth)

Do not move the blank in the Wizard between layers!

Either have your hand or some low tack scotch tape handy to hold the offset cut out as it cuts the additional window. I have found that it is slightly unpredictable as to wich will cut first. I know I can fix this in path trace but I never bother.
