Customer came in with a diploma and had more conservation "script" than I can muster... Wants a rag mat barrier board for his diploma. Since there is not much space around the diploma the barrier board will barely cover the edges and I fear major buckling will occur along with the paper being loose.

Any suggestions...

Thanks,

Roz

Maybe my real question is:

Does he "need" the barrier board between a Bainbridge artcare mat and his diploma?

Or Would a mylar barrier work better than a rag mat barrier?

ArtCare is lignin free, acid free alphacellulose. For preservation purposes it is equal to any other "museum grade" alphacellulose board, including 100% cotton linters "rag" board.

barrier boards are for framers selling non-acid free mats. if what you sell is good quality, there is no need for a barrier.
