My guillotine has sharp blades but horizontally there is always nearly 1cm on the bottom edge of the moulding remaining which hasn't been chomped. I've added a strip underneath but want to sort out the problem once and for all. I have adjusted the foot pedal spring to no avail. Who can I ask? )

Not sure I can visualise the problem, the blades go up and down vertically but move in and out horizontally, so I’m assuming the problem is at the back of the moulding, not the bottom, in which case it’s a common and easily solved issue

But 1cm is huge, whatever the issue is.

A photo or ten would help

If the blades are not cutting right through the moulding this can be adjusted by a lock nut on the rod connecting the foot pedal to the cutting block. Just tighten this until the blades pass right through the moulding at the bottom of the cutting stroke.

This sometimes happens when you change a near-new set of blades for a worn down set.
