I have a rush order with a fillet. If I use Corner Weld to attach the fillet, wait two hours before closing the frame up, does that give enough time for the moisture to leave? The folks who make Corner Weld say it’s enough time. I don’t want it to mildew later on from having too much moisture in the frame. Thanks very much.

Remember that some of the moisture from the glue
may remain in the matting materials. A tacking
iron can be applied to the board to drive out
moisture, so that the schedule can be kept.

Two hours should be fine, the amount of glue is minimal when using a fillet.

My $.02.

I'd recommend MAXIM quick dry glue for this & MOST other jobs, including all moulding joining. Many distributors carry this.

Thanks for the quick reply, Hugh. You saved the day.

And thanks to everyone who put in two cents.

My rule of thumb is to let it dry overnight if I’ve used any thing with water. That includes starch paste, linen tape and pva glue. Am I on the right track here?

What is the cure time for starch paste and for linen tape?
