I have a customer looking for a print of “Perseverance” by Thomas Kinkade. Any of you grumblers have a spare?

Thanks..

Snafu, you should have put a disclaimer in your post that this is not an invitation to bash ol Tom.

I had typed a rather witty (for me) response: something about burning my last copy of that one, but remembered that we've gone through this ad nauseum before.

Fluffernutter?

But that's just a guess, maybe you could "enlighten" me!

No TK Prints here, sorry. Maybe try E-Bay? That's where my customers get them.

Oooo don't forget cruise ships!

Hey, give the guy a break - to say there is crap over the water, admits he has depicted WATER quite well.

If you took out the sky and the boat and painted in a couple of Mustangs (not the ones with wheels or legs)

That 'water' could be sky and the white crap would be clouds. Then, through a break in them, he could paint a lovely thatched cottage, with a warm glow coming from the windows - street lghts, bridges, carol singers ..... aaaaaaah!

Johnny, Why have you pulled poor ol' Bob Ross into this? What'd he ever do to get put in the middle of a TK thread?? Gentle man, that Bob R.

C'mon youse guys. You know there's always a story behind these paintings.

This one depicts a few brave sailors who have ventured out in their tiny boat to rescue the crew of a cargo ship sunk by bombs dropped from aircraft. You can still see the glow of the explosions reflected in the sky.

The hold of the cargo ship was filled with white fun fur, which now floats on the water. The fur was on its way to New York for the annual Macy's parade. Now all the Santas are going to look moth-eaten and bald unless they can come up with some substitute trimming for their hats and red outfits.

It's really a very sad picture.

And this, Snafu, is why it's never a good idea, on The Grumble, at least, to say "Thank you" in advance.

Had you asked for something like a black velvet Elvis or poker-playing dogs, you would have gotten some helpful suggestions.

Thanks guys. I needed a good laugh and sure enough, you provided it.

I tend to think that Bob would have agreed and had a good laugh as well.

Is that better??

All seriousness aside, I framed one of those a few months ago.

If memory serves, the guy who commissioned it got it on eBay.

The version that was brought in was on stretched canvas.

The thing that struck me at the time was that the figures on deck appeared to have been added as an afterthought. They looked like the kind of stick figures that an eight year old would have drawn.

Other than those people on board, as much as I hate to admit it, the scene was kinda nifty – white craps and all.

I prefer "The Bears' Dance" but, the dogs are good too.

I recently stretched a huge Billiards-Playing-Dogs Tapestry. Took the lady awhile to pick it up, so we hung it up until she did...kinda grew on me!
I love The Bear's Dance too, we have the print in inventory that I'm thinking of framing to sell. Something "different" for a change.

Upstate NY is the home of The Bear Dance, has a neat story behind it and the original hangs in a lodge up north. A little burned out on framing them, but they are perfect for the Adirondack-y look.

At least it doesn't make me want to barf, either way still money in the till.

Snafu you'll have to let us know how you made out...ebay was the only thing that came to mind for me as well.

(Those are some pretty ummmm 'fluffy ' white caps

Checked ebay - 3 sizes of canvas, 2 paper prints, and 1 plate from 5 dollars to 1500 dollars.

Let's honor Snafu's original post and get back to the Subject: If you look closely, you'll see that the Bears are dancing on a Kincade Limited Edition Canvas Original.

Nevermind, I think he's gone.

Carry on.

I think this is what grumblers have been waiting on.

Snafu, believe it or not, that's exactly what blew me over the edge of no longer respecting TK marketing! There actually is TK toilet paper available!! I think I saw it advertised around Christmas time one year! That was just too much, and I crossed over at that time.
I promised I would no long be a TK basher, so I'll just leave it at this:
TK TP is no longer a figment of our imaginations! But you'll never find it shining on my -er- self!

Is that archival TP?
Does it come in limited editions?
Would you want it on canvas?
Will it gain in value?
Can I buy it on QVC?
Can it be dry mounted?
Is it up to the consumer to embellish it?

Sadly, I bet it would!! But keep the box and don't be tempted to use any!

Good job on the TP Snafu....I'm glad we didn't scare you off!

Does TK impart his DNA to the TP as well??

ok... now we are back to EEWWWHHH!!! and the barfies again!

Isn't his wife suppose to be in his prints, too? No, maybe it's his wife's name...h3ll, I don't really know.

Lest you forget, I recall a piece on 60 Minutes describing an actual town somewhere west of San Fran (I thought they knew better out there...) that is designed to be a TK town .... all the glows, cottages, and the rest of the fluffy white-crap sort of thing..(this is why they hate us in the middle east...)

Rick Bergeron already posted about this a few weeks back, thought he might follow up. Our small city is going to have a TK subdivision--with his corporate permission. The county gave the developers it's permission and permits last week. I thought it was just someone's stupid idea of a practical joke. Unfortunately, I have heard that several of the lots are already sold.

My feeling is that all those roses are going to end up being about as much fun as mirrors on the ceiling...sumbody's GOT to wash them eventually...and every rosebush must be pruned.
