I’m framing a 13 x 17 college diploma. It came in a tube, so it was coiled. I sprayed the back and left it in my dry mount press over night. Next morning it was flat as could be. Since the lettering on top and bottom was close to the paper edge, so I put two T-hinges across the top. Next day both the top and bottom of the diploma started buckling even with the mat board laying on the diploma. So I again sprayed the back of the diploma and put it back in the dry mount press over night and again it came out flat. Using two T-hinges again, later the top and bottom edges started buckling again.
Any suggestions on how to stop this?

Only "overnight" is not sufficient time for the paper to permanently stay flat. Depending on the humidity conditions for your work area it can take several days if not more.
Thanks! I’ll leave it in for more days. Have a great Sunday!

A de-roller is useful. I made my own from a roller blind, which the real thing is just a glorified version of.

If the T-hinges were t'd close to the edge of the art it will most likely buckle between the hinges. See the articles on the FrameTek website on hinging .

FYI I don't think they sell these anymore, maybe it is becasue they wanted $514 for a tube and some plastic which broke on mine years ago, but they are pretty easy to make.

OK - there is/was a company called beinfang who did them too. I just watched the video then nipped down to a (UK) store called Dunelm, that does curtains and blinds big time, and found a nice roller blind for peanuts as the fittings were missing, adapted it and it worked a treat.

Hi again,
I left the diploma in my Seal press (no heat) for a week. Just took it out and flat. I started centering it under the mat board and it’s starting to buckle again across the top. What can I do now? Help!

As FramerDave pointed out, humidification of a document shouldn't be done with a direct spray of water. It is not going to be uniform and can potentially add to the problem.
Seek out a paper consevator about straightening a paper document. This is really out of the realm of framing.
