I had a bunch of Grumblers come up to me at the WCAF and ask where I had been. Some were curious, some seemed concerned. One even said that it was rumored I had some type of breakdown

It was quite nice that people were concerned, but I am fit, fine and healthy

I just am not spending time here as a time comes when we all just need to move on. It wasn't as much fun as it ought to be, but the forum moves on no matter

It was wonderful to see so many face to face that I had only met here

The past is way in my rear-view mirror and I may spend some time catching up; but anyone wanting to visit with me or get my ever-available opinion (I've never shyed away from that) I hope they will visit me privately if they wish a response

I am so incredibly busy right after the show and preparing for PMA and Baltimore, but i will promise to help anyone that asks

Thanks for al the kindness and concern; it was really appreciated (especially from Val and Harry)

Hey Bob...good to hear from you. I miss your sage wisdom and sometimes painful reality checks.

Take care and visit when you can.

Hi, Bob! Good to see you here. Glad you are well.
Had hoped to meet you and take your class in Vegas, but unforseen family circumstances kept me home this year. Will you be teaching in Baltimore or Atlanta? Sounds like WCAF was great.
All the best for a happy and healthy 2007. Hope to see you on the G if time permits.

 Rick

Wonderful to see you here again Bob. Sad to here that it was time to move on. I am sadden by this, reading your posts you have made me question many ideas I had on business. Many times i would just read the threads that you jumped in on. I was not confident enough in what I thought or felt on business issues. Well when I read your posts and questions I found out that it was a good thing that I was not confident. Many times I completely changed my mind, sometimes you were wrong (well in my mind, but your advice was still useful), but all in all you are the the only one here that really gets the business stuff fired up in my mind.

So I will ask as well as a few others, where shall you be teaching, now I will have to travel to see you after all these years of listening to free. I know it will be worth it, I have not heard you speak in several years. I need a challenge, where will you be teaching, gosh I would love to read Atlanta and the Baltimore show.

Take care, stop bye and see us on occassion.

PL

Good to hear from you again, Bob
BTW - will you be offering classes in Baltimore?
We can all use your sage advise!

Glad you checked in with us, Bob. Your posts are always of great interest to me. Please pop in when you feel like it and bring us your thoughts and experiences.

And thanks for giving us the option to contact you personally...

Take care!

As others have said I also miss your imput, and know that you had our best interests at heart in your advice (I even received some personal emails from you)

"It wasn't as much fun as it ought to be" I discovered this wonderful little button that allows you to add anyone to your ignore list. There was a nameless individual here that just bugged me with their posts, so I added them to my ignore list, and now their post no longer show up on my screen. Give that a try Bob, unless of course you have so many that all of the other responses not longer are in context. Hope to hear from you once in awhile.

Thanks for everything Bob. It was a true pleasure to have met you and hope to see you at future events.

For anyone who has never had the opportunity to take in one of Mr. Carter's classes, you should so as soon as you can. Both you and your business will be better for it.

Thanks again Bob, and I will be intouch as I now have your e-mail.

Again, it was a pleasure.

Harry

Thanks, all

I am planning on two brand new classes in Baltimore, so who knows what the heck we'll come up with

The classes in Vegas were unbelieveable; about 100 in each. If I had been smarter, I should have gone the "percentage" route instead of a flat fee. My favorite charity could have really made out. I must confess that with my good friend, Marc Bluestone, not teaching it left the door open for me.

I'll be around but would prefer if you need help just drop a line directly. That way no one needs to be unintentionately irritated

See you in Baltimore next, though

Welcome back, Bob. You were missed.

I took Bob's class "Think Like a Retailer, Not Like a Framer" this week, and boy, do I have some work to do. I truly believe that if I am to make it in this business, no matter how good my framing skills are, unless I am a business person first, I don't stand a chance.

Bob's mentoring here, and behind the scenes (ouch, sometimes!), have changed the way I look at things, and when that happens, everything changes....for the better.

Glad to have you back, Bob.

Bob, so nice to hear from you. I also miss your wisdom and humor. Baltimore huh... You never know who might show up. It could make for a great trip.
Good luck and check in every now and than as it is always nice to visit with a good friend.

I heartily agree with Val's and others comments. Your educational threads always were insightful. Best wishes - and in this type of forum, ALL thoughts are needed, and need to be welcomed.

PS: do you have a book/manual on the class you gave? I so share where to get it!

JPAUL I thought all this time that I had "ignored" Bob. Hmmm I learn now that he hasn't posted at all? Ohh well the problem is corrected now.

Seriously, Its good to hear from you Bob. I'm glad all is going well.

Carry on.

Bob, Ifor one am glad to see you are back.

I enjoyed the one time you and I had a discussion on business through e-mail. I may not always agree with everything everyone says, but I love to hear everyones opinion.:kaffeetrinker_2:
Your's alot.
Your wisdom is very much appreciated here on the Grumble even if it's not said all the time.:D

I'm happy to see you back and I hope to meet you in Atlanta and take your class!

Hey JPaul, is it me?:(

If there was one person whose posts I read and reread (and continue to do so), it is Bob Carter. Agree or not, his point of view has given us all plenty to smoke over. Thanks for the info and sharing in the manner of helping out your fellow man. Mad props to you!

Hi Bob! You are sorely missed around here. I've said it before but I'll say it again........You are so generous sharing your views with us. I have learned so much from you. This forum has been better because of you. I can personally testify I would not still be in business if you had not offered your assistance, I know I was fortunate to have found this forum and you were a big part of that. I feel lucky I found this place when it was more diverse, there was a certain spark back then that made it exciting, It was all so new. When I realized the amazing talent that was on this board, wow.

I wish you would stick around, we need that constant reminder that we are business people first. It all seems so diluted now, you always give it to us straight. Who cares who you irritate, there is room for us all.

Also Bob, I'm glad to hear you are offering new classes. We Have booked up this year but we will have to bring you back for an encore next year. People are still talking about your first visit.

Hi Kathy-I've never not replied to anyone. While it may not always be what they want to hear, I hope it's something that I feel they probably need to hear

I will suggest that there is rarely anything "new" I ever suggest. It is stuff that ever since Mohammed sold camels on the Euphrates has been passed on. I think it was Jay Goltz that said you don't go to church every week to be told something new, but to be reminded of what has always been.

So, my classes aren't "new" unless it's the first time you have heard it.

And, that, my friend, is perhaps our greatest challenge

5 years ago, when I first started expounding on "Bob on Bidness", there was more than a fair amount of resistance. Today, it's the same message, but I see so many more heads nodding in agreement (or at least, scratching) and those voices against are just as loud, but just fewer

But, it is the folks like you that really drag me back in

Pick up the airfare and I'll be back up to visit again. I really enjoyed our visit at Duncan-Matthews. But, I must insist on the same Limo service as last time. That driver was a real knockout

Believe it or not...

I've missed ya Bob! and haven't spent as much time on the Grumble as a result.

Elaine ;)

Bob, I don't know if hookers are in the budget any longer. We used them the first year to "hook" people in. Kind of like a loss leader...............we will come up with something though......

Hey Bob,

I agree with you that it isn't as much fun here as it used to be. When I first joined the Grumble in early 2004 there was so much information that it was mind boggling. It just doesn't seem to be that way any more. I, too, have not been checking in as much as I used to. Oh well, such is life I guess. Take care & I hope to see you in Baltimore as I missed your class at WCAF (although I did take Jay Golz 2 classes that were awesome).

Well, Bob, I've have been thinking about you lately. I thought maybe I missed your posting because I spend very little on the business forums these days. Then I was worried that maybe you weren't well. I am glad to hear that is not the case.

I am going to be in Scottsdale the week of February 18. I am going to the BIG Arab show-can't wait. Hoping for warm weather! If I have the time, perhaps I will stop by to say hello.
