I'm looking at the site for Montana Moulding
and see a profile that I didn't know about.
I'm wondering if any of you use it, and if
so, what you think of it. I like the scoop shape.

Yes I have 3 mirrors frames in the Elements finish if you want them. Some things just look better in wood IMHO.

I believe that profile only comes in the Natural Elements finishes, and one of them was just discontinued. In fact there are two pages of Nielsen discontinueds, including 8 of the nice Gilded series. The company in Europe that made them went out of business, and Nielsen is scrambling to find a replacement. They tried making them themselves but were unhappy with the results. Apparently the rest of the Gildeds will be gone too when stocks run out. I hope they find a replacement supplier with quality equal to the originals. These are a unique look- very trim and classy. The deletions list will be included with the launch of the new #225 profile later this month. Also coming is a list of Bainbridge deletions, mostly 40 x 60s.

WAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

I LOVE the Nielsen Gildeds! They're my favoritest
metals of all! Dadgummit, anyway!

That does it. I'm so bereft that I'm going to turn
off my computer and go clean house. Heck, why
not just go for broke and wash the dishes! Owie,
my heart! Grumble grumble mutter mutter......

:faintthud:

I have sold a few of the wide Elements but they are so danged expensive and now most of the colors are discontinued.

LOVE the Gildeds and so do my customers.

Dang.

I feel your pain, Shayla. It's like when Bainbridge decimated the ColorCore line some years ago. They were my go-to mats for lots of orders.

I hear ya'. Well, thanks to your shocking disclosure,
I mustered up the ferocity to turn my off my computer.
Did 3 and 1/2 hours of housework and even baked
a batch of walnut brownies. Still righteously indignant
about the Gildeds Guillotine, but the guys at the bike
shop are happy with their treats.

I sure do wish they'd find another way to make those
frames. They're so great to use. Except for the sucky
hanger things. But I still heart them.

I wondered what was happening to those profiles. I will miss them greatly. They are my Go-To metals. :(

The #45 is also a nice profile. I have used it frequently and always like the look. I especially like the bronze.

I was surprised by the Gilded discos. I did extremely well with the line, although on some I had a chipping problem. It was tough ditching those samples. I hope that they can resolve the problem.

From what my rep told me it sounds like they ARE trying to re-source them with good quality. Regarding the hangers for those, do not use the special ones they provide, because they can easily come out. The best I have found for the gildeds are these:

You do have to slide them in before putting the end on the frame.

Funny thing is my NB rep was just in the shop 2 days ago. I mentioned how much we liked the gilded line but she never mentioned a word that some of them were disc.

I just spent awhile at the Nielsen Bainbridge site,
going through the most recent deletions, but
nary a peep there about the Gildeds. Do you
know when we'll find out which ones they are?
I'll probably keep my samples up as long as
possible, until my smaller, regional suppliers
are finally out.

Where do you get those hangers you pictured?
