It would be very convienient for me to cut a 8' long sheet. obvioulsy i'd need a step stool to start at the top and a tall ceiling which I have!
anyone ever modify their F3000 to do such a thing? I'd be cutting 1/16th thick polycarbonate so a little bit of flex is OK.

The model 3000 cutter may be too light-duty for that larger, heavier material. Anyway, if you try to extend its cutting range, the cost of doing that would probably exceed the cost of a new model FSC or Alta machine, which would be more suitable.

the fsc isnt capable either, well not the 8Ft long cut anyway

you might be better with one of the benchtop cutter bars designed for cutting heavier materials

You should consider cutting this, rather than using a F3000.

As far as I know polycarbonate cuts just like acrylic. If it does, then there have been a number of threads about cutting acrylic with a saw rather than using a F3000/F3100, et all that you should read.

You can cut acrylic using a no-melt blade in a table saw, panel saw, jig saw or circular saw (cordless or corded). I use all four as you will see in the threads.

The investment to cut acrylic is minimal and the benefits are maximum.

Gotta agree with Larry. Beseides I can see getting a good score on an 8 foot sheet, but not sure about getting a good clean snap. I think a tablesaw for that size is the way to go.
