My understanding is that if I don't renew your subscription that the program won't open. Can you somehow retain info you've input? In particular, customer order history. Has anyone had actual experience with this?

Hmmm.....it used to be that if you don't renew your tech support agreement, you have no Tech Support but can still use the software.

But FrameVue acted like you described and now LifeSaver??

Hi Terry

My understanding:

FrameVue and the free version of LifeSaver operate on a subscription basis, and I believe they start reminding about 30 days in advance of the expiration date. It can be renewed directly within the program, with either monthly or yearly terms.

Paul is correct that the LEGACY (older) version continues to function when it expires, but access to pricing and program updates become disabled. This is because the legacy shops paid for the software, with an initial investment.

The databases physically reside on your computer, in a popular database format, and can be imported by other programs; regardless if it is active or not active.

If there is a problem or concern which can be addressed, I am certain that LifeSaver would love to hear from you directly. From what I have witnessed personally, they tend to literally "bend over backwards" to work with framers in any way they can. I encourage you to to email, or to give them a call.

Best regards
Mike
