This is the first time I have ever framed a leotard. The client was a gymnast at Bowling Green University in Bowling Green Ohio.

I designed the Falcons in pathtrace.

Very nice! How did you get such a natural "hanging" appearance from such a light and flexible fabric? Do you insert anything inside the garment?

Rob

Rob, I make a matboard hanger that is about 1" wide. I place this inside of the garment and use an Attach-ez like tagging gun. I also put a strip at the folds in the sleeve. I prefer this method rather then tagging right through the garment. This avoids the "tenting" that you get when you are only supporting the garment from a few points. The other advantage is that if you put in the "I" tags directly into the garment, they can show when gravity takes hold. With this method the garment is hanging from the matboard and the "I" tags are 1/2" below the top edge.

BTW the matboard I used was black not green :)

That makes sense. It didn't appear to have a form inside the entire garment. I like how it looks to be hanging naturally. Some of my framers are more worried about the fabric moving. This way the fabric can move freely where it is acted on by gravity but, is firmly held in place, level by your "hanger". Nice work!

Very nice. The matboard is black on my monitor. I bet it looks green on my old laptop. I've got one of those color correcting thingamabobs for the monitor if you would like to borrow it.

LOL Jeff. I used the green because it contrasted to the leotard. You are having fun giving me carp tonight. Just remember that payback is a ............:)
