The Show Me State
This is the place to sign up! Let me know so that I can get a head count for the restaurant.

It will be on Saturday, Sept 17th at 7:00 p.m. at McCormick and Schmick's which is located in the CNN Center.

I'm not sure the link is working, so you might have to cut and paste the following into your browser if you want to check out the menu. Remember, they have the seafood flown in and so the menu is subject to change somewhat as the catch dictates.

Remember that there will be an 18% gratuity added to your check since we are a large group.

The reservation is under my name, Pelton and/or "Grumbler" .

We will not have a separate room, but they are going to create a grouping of round tables for us. I thought that would be better to allow us to talk to people besides who we happen to be sitting next to. I want to be able to get around and meet everyone!

Wow this sounds like a great choice, and right next to our hotel and the convention center!

Thanks so much for putting this together for all of us Barb!

Mike & Andy (Will be attending)

Thanks Barb! The menu sounds wonderful.

Count me & Derek

I'll be there...remember, Barb, half hour early for cocktails...maybe we can get service at this place.

My understanding is that they print fresh menus twice daily depending on what they get. I get option paralysis every time I go there.

Wally,
You're on--6:30 it is!
(Now don't stand me up this time, I'm still not sure a hurricane was a good enough excuse last time....
)

Last time it was the FACTS, maam, just the FACTS.

1-4 for me. I will get a better feel for the number a little closer to the show.

I hope to make day in Atlanta part of my "road trip".

Do you have a deadline you'd like us to commit by?

Save me one seat, please. It was great fun last year and I look forward to putting more faces to the growing list of names I see here. Thanks Barb, for making it possible!

Great!

I think this will be the biggest turnout EVER for one of these events.

It's gonna be a great evening. I hope more folks register, too.
Mike

OK Mike...you convinced me.

Count me in!

This is going to be a great turnout!

If you are even considering coming, and haven't posted or e-mailed me, please either add your name or your "maybe I'll be there" soon so that I can touch base with the restaurant.

I suppose I should add that "Soon", for you procrastinators out there, is by this Sunday evening--August 21.

Friday night, yes.
Saturday night, no.

I'm so sad I will miss the Grumbler gathering, but I'm taking my daughter and her troop camping (for the first time!) Sat. after the show.

Judy and Don Dolan would love to join you.

We'll have to break early though to pick up our vicious shih tzu at the dog sitter Pets Are People, Too. Thanks.

I appreciate everyone signing in. Since we are now a large group, I really do need to give the restaurant ample time to adjust accordingly. I will be communicating with them on Monday about our accomidations.

If you are still considering, but not sure, it is important that you check in with me and let me know that you are a "maybe". I will reserve a certain number of extra seats for the "maybes", so I need that count also.

How exciting to have such a wonderful group!

My husband MIGHT be joining me in Atlanta before I move on to North Carolina. Sunday is our anniversary, after all. Still, he is undecided as to exactly when he will be able to meet up with me.

I just found out I will be leaving Saturday night, so my husband and I can't be there. So sorry.

It'll be great to see you again, Nona!

I would like to come this year. Am looking forward to it.

Can everyone please wear a nametag with her or his posting name so I can keep everyone straight? Names evaporate out of my head as soon as I hear them and besides we mostly know each other from our posting names. I used to know faces, but now don’t even know my own. Of course it keeps changing, but still!

Nona, If you happen to see a guy 6 ft. 2 inches. about 220lb, very good looking, natural black hair with no gray and a nice tan, well, uh..that won't be me :D . But if a guy comes in that weighs around 320lb. but carries it fairly well, in his mid 50's, 6 ft, more gray than brown medium cut hair with a gotee that's basicly white, looks like an ex biker turned framer with some tattoos, wears a name badge that says "Rock', and comes in with a black haired good looking woman (wife named Judy), that will be me for sure :D :D

I hope I get a chance to meet all from the Grumble who are going.

Rock

Barb,
I know it is past the deadline, but I've just been able to overcome a conflict, so I'll be able to come to the show (if I can get a hotel at this late date!). I'll be bringing my friend and manager Kathy with me, so if it isn't too late, count us in for 2.

Late Leslie

Heads up everyone. I need a couple of things from you guys. Since our crowd has swelled to over 40, we need to make a few adjustments.

First, the restaurant offers a couple of options for this size of a crowd.

1) For a set price of $35.00, each of us can select from 3 entrees, and everyone can have a starter and a dessert that would be predetermined.

2.) They could also put together another menu that would offer 1 appetizer, 1 starter, your choice of 3 entrees, and 1 dessert and each of us would pay for whatever we ordered.

My personal opinion is that it would be so much easier to go with the first option. This way everyone knows what they are going to be charged on their credit card. (any alcohlic beverages you may order would be additional charge, of course).

Also, for a group this size, we need to guarantee a number of attendees and I need that number by Sept. 13th-FIRM! We can go over the number by a small number, but we cannot have less than what they guarantee or will have to pay the $35. per ea. no show. So, for those of you who gave me soft numbers and maybes, please firm those numbers up.

Sorry about the changes, but Atlanta is just overflowing with extra conventions that have been moved into the downtown facilities that were previously scheduled for New Orleans, so we have to adapt to the demands that are being put on all of the facilities there.

I'll be back soon with more info.

Thanks!

Option 1 sounds very easy and count Andy and I in FOR SURE

Mike
