OK, you don't have to be a Wisconsinite to join us for this great program - Our neighbors in Illinois, Minnesota, Iowa and Michigan are welcome as well. Hey, if you fly in from further away, rumor has it that Ron Eggers will put you up at his house! ;)

I have extracted the following from the Wisconsin Chapter PPFA Newsletter.......

<marquee><font size=6><font color=red>Greg Perkins to Spark Creative Framing Ideas at Spring Chapter Meeting in Appleton</font color></font size></marquee>

Join us for our spring chapter meeting on Sunday, April 13, at the Radisson Paper Valley Hotel in Appleton. We'll be hosting nationally noted framer Greg Perkins, CPF, of Larson-Juhl, as our keynote speaker. This meeting, to be held in the Radisson's Lawrence Room, will also include the hotel's famous noontime Sunday Brunch, a scrumptious layout that you're sure to enjoy. The CPF certification exam will also be given from 8am to noon.

In his presentation, Greg Perkins will get you thinking about how our frame designs should reflect home design styles and home furnishings. He will talk about the latest trends in custom framing, home building, and home furnishings, with visuals showing various trends as well as specific custom frame design ideas you can offer to coordinate with them.

We all know that our goal is to enhance everything we frame. Greg's tips are designed to help you maximize your chances for success. You'll see a wide range of frame designs and also learn about exciting new ways you can share with your customers for displaying framed art in their homes.

This program is $45 for PPFA members, $30 for PPFA member employees and $70 for non-members. The program fee includes the Brunch Buffet.

For further information, please contact Gary Haren, President, (920) 832-2777 or gharen@ecb.state.wi.us.

Please consider joining us this Spring Day in Wisconsin.

If your at all in the area GO
and take all your frame designers with you.

Last year Greg spoke to my staff on this subject. We imediatly saw our average ticket shoot through the roof.

Yeh, I'll be there. The Paper Valley is two blocks from my shop.

But if I had to drive 100 miles or more, I'd go anyway. I took one of Greg's classes in Atlanta. He is a first-rate designer and teacher/motivator whether you're an old fart like me or a beginner.

Events like this are, in my opinion, the real strength of the PPFA.

I agree with Ron. Do whatever you have to do to go to this class. You won't be sorry.

Now if we could just get Greg to join us on the Grumble.

Anyone need directions or assistance, please call our WPPFA President, Gary Haren at: 920-832-2777 or myself, John Ranes at: 920-915-2913

If you missed it you missed a good one! We had framers from all over Wisconsin and Minnesota. The program wasn't very long but it was packed with info. The food was excellent, and the company was too. Got to meet a few more grumblers. We had an unofficial grumblers table with Ron, Beerhere, Dancinbaer, Jill Hennes and her husband and me. John and Sarah Ranes and their staff sat nearby. It was a good meeting! :D

You are absolutely correct Anne stating that although only two hours long, Greg's program was packed with information!

Three different shops from Minnesota drove 5+ hours to attend, plus a dedicated framer from Madison rode the bus three hours to see Greg's program. Next time, I'll make it a point to get an "official" Grumbler photo. Finally got to meet Dancinbaer, but we'll let Beerhere tell you personally about his horrific journey to the Cheese State.

We have a dedicated board and our PPFA Chapter is on a role......Look forward to our June 23rd Golf Outing, next!

Look, there I am! :D I'm the one in the back left side of the picture sitting facing the speaker wearing light tan pants and a dark blue jacket. That's Ron's head sticking up above mine. Beerhere is to the left in the white tshirt and dark jacket with glasses. Denny (Dancinbaer) is to the left of him by the wall, you can just see his hat. Jill and her husband are on the far left in the back. The other two people are a couple from Waupaca near me who have a gallery and frame shop there.

For a second, Anne, I thought the receding hairline was YOURS!!!

But I immediately recognized that forehead and the angle of concentration that only Ron_ exhibits when he is awake and paying attention to someone! (Did he nod off at all during Greg's presentation?)

We had to keep elbowing him in Atlanta.

I'm not sure what John is refering to about a horrific experience in Cheesseconsin; I had a wheel good time, meeting some wonderful people and finally putting a face to all of them. The great and very gracious people of the WPPFA, John Ranes and his better half Sarah (really, she is the glue of Framers Workshop)Gary, Judy,Nikki,Sandy and Ron of course treated me so well. Thank-you all!( Of course, if I don't pass that test I may take all this back).Greg Perkins gave a great presentation on creating designs and ideas to build sales on those designs. Hes still a Minnesotan deep down though, as evidenced by his humor aimed at himself and at Ron. I do recommend that if anybody out there happens to find themselves tooling through Wisconsin on a lazy weekend that you definently stop and visit some of these people, they really are some of the friendliest, open group I have ever met. Thanks and Kudos to you all!

This is going to sound trite. That's too bad.

I think Beerhere discovered what I discovered in Atlanta and others have discovered wherever two or more framers have gathered. If you're a Grumbler, you never have to be a stranger. Some would say that the PPFA serves the same function, but the difference is that many of us interact here on a regular - sometimes daily - basis.

When my son and I stopped to meet Framerguy about a year ago, I felt like I already knew him. (We stopped anyway.) I felt the same way when I met Markg1, Denny Baer and - now - Beerhere.

People, including many framers, who have never visited The Grumble can't understand why it's so important to me, but most of you reading this can understand it very well.

I understand all to well what you are talking about Ron_.

I feel like I can say what is on my mind with this group of people, even if it's not what they want to hear. They are, for the most part, good people and very understanding and more than willing to help with a problem if they have an answer.(Sometimes even if they don't and just want to throw in there two cents.)

Last September, I had one of the best times of my life, mostly due in part to the Grumble and the people that are on here.

I just hope that I will be able to afford to go this year.

Are you driving again, Ron_?

Of course he's gonna drive, Mark!

And you're gonna be the navigator this time so that you both can find your way down I-65 to Fort Walton Beach so you can pick up the Framerguy!!

I have chills of anticipation at the mere thought of it.

Framerguy,

I know my way down there! If you are really going to be there? My wife and kids will want to come stay at your place while we are in Atlanta!

Did you really find a place down there??
