Anyone else use these? Most are not worth keeping, but I have one set up for The Framer's Workshop and was just send an alert about this story about a shop by the same name in Boston. We actually visited this shop a few years ago. I thought her comments about her customer's experiences were reflective of why we put up the Framing Stories page.

Unless you have a really common name or your business name is not distinctive enough, it seems like it would be foolish not to take advantage of this free service. Both my personal and company names are unique enough that I get only an average of less than 5 alerts per day combined. Most of the time it's stuff I already am aware of, but once in a while something interesting pops up.

Not sure but how you'd use the alerts Kirstie??

To me it seems like cold calling or Spamming....if one would get in touch with somebody just because they Googled framing, for example.

We get them for Deck the Walls and Deck the Walls Des Moines, and Merle Hay Mall (the mall that we are located in) Have not seen much that concerns me but I have seen some info that I would have never seen before. Interesting FREE service that you can use to help protect yourself.

Paul, this service alerts you when the google spiders find something that you have specifically asked them to alert you about. It is always good to have them alert you when your company name is found in case someone is saying something bad about you. (I did find out about a bogus bad review about me and my business with this)

I also have them for Artaissance and for my name. I may remove the former because nothing has come up so far except for framer's ads that I am not already aware of. Using the plus sign is a good idea. Maybe I'll stop getting alerts for Kirstie Ally!
