We're using more & more Coroplast in the frame shop.

We save scrap for filling the void behind frames in need. We might pinwheel strips around the perimeter and use a bigger sheet on the outside. I been using ATG to hold things in place but I'm suffering sticker shock with the last box I just purchased.

Any suggestions for an alternative to ATG?

Buy clear CoreX instead.

Frank's Fabric adhesive will glue both Coroplast and CoreX together,
but it isn't fast.

Hot melt glue gun???
A few spots should be enough!

From Wikipedia's article on polyethylene:

Joining

Commonly used methods for joining polyethylene parts together include:[17]

Hot gas welding
Fastening
Infrared welding
Laser welding
Ultrasonic welding
Heat sealing
Butt heat fusion

Adhesives and solvents are rarely used because polyethylene is nonpolar and has a high resistance to solvents. Pressure sensitive adhesives (PSA) are feasible if the surface is flame treated or corona treated. Commonly used adhesives include:[17]

Dispersion of solvent-type PSAs
Polyurethane contact adhesives
Two-part polyurethane or epoxy adhesives
Vinyl acetate copolymer hot melt adhesives

We use low-temperature hot melt. It works well, and since it is mostly solids, off-gassing is not a problem, according to the objects conservator here.
