Glossy to Matte?

Just received a glossy black fillet that I blindly ordered from LJ. Unfortunately I had asked for one with a matte black finish.
I'm trying to finish a job before Christmas. Any quick-simple solutions for turning this glossy thing to matte?

Got enough to try this first - Lightly rub it down with some 0000 steel wool, which would probably do the trick


Might also try Krylon Matt Spray

Or a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser, which is a micro-fine abrasive.

Follow-up

I first tried the Magic Eraser... it didn't faze the glossy finish (the fillet was made in Taiwan).
However, the steel wool worked! I had to rub for quite awhile... and I may rub on it some more. But I think I'm in business!

I would have tried some acrylic matte fluid. I did not think of the steel wool. Good idea.
