Hey there. Look no discontinueds. Glassguard works great on convex glass when the glass is to be re-installed in old convex photo frames. It keeps the glass edges from cutting into the photo. That's all folks. M.

Melinda,

Can you elaborate on what Glassguard is ?
Maybe a web reference or url ?

We supply lots of replacement and new convex glass to framers, and for the life of me, I can't see where it would damage artwork.

But then, we seam the glass edges so they're not really sharp.

Certainly though, with the old portraits and glass, both are usually convexed, so the glass lays up against the print 'spoon style'.

Glass Guard, from Frame Tek, is a channel material designed to fit around the edges of the glass to cushion it in the frame package.

Les,

Greg Fremstad, the owner of Frame Tek produces GlasGard as well as many more well know products, like FrameSpace, EconoSpace, RabbitSpace, and Nori paste.

I just shipped a large 25x35 inch L/E print to the UK yesterday - Packed to the Nines! :D But because it was in a Metal Frame, I also used GlasGard. This is the time you really want to use this product...

Here is Greg's FrameTek website.

Thanks too John and Lisa,
I found the website fairly quickly (or kwickly for Lance) last night, and saw the product there.
Yes, agree, it would really come into its own with metal frames.
Frametek have some great products, good on them for taking time to develop good ideas.
