Once again, the Evergreen Picture Framers Guild is hosting our 16th annual Education Festival Sunday, March 22, at The Embassy Suites in beautiful Tukwilla, Washington.

This year, you have your choice of SIX three hour classes throughout the day, PLUS -

*food in the am to get you up and going,
*our incredible framing competition (which if you enter might mean you go home with an award ribbon and MONEY),
*our fabulous buffet luncheon,
*awsome doorprizes - including the chance to win Brian Wolf for a half day - see details at our website,
*our legendary social hour,
*PLUS - you get to put your feet up and gab with all of your old and new framing buddies!!!!

WHAT! THAT MUST COST A FORTUNE!!!!!

Well, it costs a bit - $160 if you register by Monday, March 16th, $180 after that date. But it also includes your yearly membership to the EPFG. That membership is a gold mine, my friends! Yes, sir, with that membership you can attend EPFG meetings, including our second annual 100% recycled, repurposed, renewable, reinvented, completely and totally green event in September, receive our monthly newsletter, have access to our fairly large library, and get to know lots of other framers, suppliers, sales reps, and industry people who just might help you out when you take that order for those huge frames that you thought you could fit all on your own until you walked right through them. . . . . but you can read about that little fiasco in the newsletter!

WELL, WHAT KINDA CLASSES YOU GUYS GOT TO OFFER????

How about

*Profitable, Practical Archival Mounting

*Frame Shop Ergonomics (you get a back rub with this one!)

*Textile Conservation, Preservation, and Renovation

*Virtual Networking -Using Social Media to Market Your Business

*Competition Critique - or What the *&+ Do Those *$#*+ Judges Want?!

*Easy, Elegant Matting Decoration that Makes You Stand Out to Your Customers

NOT TOO SHABBY A SELECTION!

Visit the EPFG website www.evergreenpictureframers.org to learn more, and see photos from previous festivals!!!!!!!

Wait, Baer aren't you teaching?

Thanks Terry, for posting our Ed. Fest. on the G! Remember, everyone, you need to support your local framing groups, especially in these trying times, or we might not have them next year!

Who knows? Maybe you'll learn something that could help your shop turn the corner back into the BLACK! Or, at the very least, you could learn a little, eat well, have fun, and remember why you chose to be a framer along with all those other nuts! Hope to see you there!

BTW -- if anyone still wants to get in on the "early-bird pricing" call me...I know the president of EPFG...heh heh.

anything like this in mid-America?

All of these events I read about seem to be on one coast or another, which is really cost prohibitive for me. I'm in Oklahoma -- does anyone know of any annual meetings, training, networking events in the central part of the US?

The three Texas PPFA chapters usually put together a big program once a year. No doubt others will have more info on this....
