Gallery Wrap stretching?

No but I should. I just don't do enough gallery wraps when compared to regular canvas stretching, so I haven't motivated myself enough to change the pricing for it.

I do not offer gallery wrapping as a service. However, I do offer custom framing. The customer can even get it in a floater frame if they would prefer to see the canvas edges.

Yes, usually a minimum of $50 over my regular stretch charge for that size.

By the way, gallery wraps are a good way to distinguish yourself from the competition, especially the big box competition. Not only will most big box competitors not do gallery wraps, some won't even stretch a canvas for a customer unless they are also selling a frame with it. Hey, I know we all want to sell the frames, too, but I can bring in up to $300 (depending on size) for the job, plus I've got the customer. So suck it up, folks -- we can't afford to turn away customers with cash in their paws.

We do, but it's only five or ten dollars more.
Not saying that's the best approach, it's just
what we do.

I dont charge any difference between the gallery or regular stretched canvas. I figure it is the same labor to me so why charge differntly? I suppose I could because it looks like it should cost more, but I really dont do them that often anyway.

Stretchers cost more, so....

I don't do it any differently than a regular canvas, I don't know what the issue is here.

That is what I was thinking Randy.

Even if we find it easier, it should have a higher perceived value in the customer's eyes. The sides and corners are cleaner, more polished, because they aren't going to be hidden under a frame. It looks like a more finished product, so charge more!

It's kind of like putting your CMC in the front window. Do you really want the customer to see how easy it is to cut that mat? I want them to think I'm slaving away in the back, not just pushing a button.
