Anyone know where to get deep stretcher stock for gallery wrapping canvases?

Canton Joe

Larson-Juhl sells strainer stock with depths of 7/16”, 9/16”, and 1”.

Fredrix makes HD bars 1-3/8" (or maybe it's 1-1/2") deep. I buy them retail :( from a local art store because I seldom need them and it's cheaper than wholesale plus freight. They're good mortised stock in 1" increments.

Got 'em from Decor - perfect. Thanks for all the tips.

Mike,

The definitions I use from Old Grange Graphics are

Gallery Wrap: Canvas stretched so that image is visible on sides of the stretcher bar. Stapled from the back of stretcher/strainer bars so staples are not visible from sides.

Museum Wrap: Canvas stretched so that image is visible from the front only i.e. white canvas visible on sides of the stretcher bar. Stapled from the back of stretcher/strainer bars so staples are not visible from sides.

Foster sells keyed stretcher bars in custom sizes. Sorry I con't have their number, but they are at all the shows, so look in your Decor Sources issue etc.
