I had a customer bring in a painting done on tree bark that they picked-up in French Polynesia. It is 32 X 48 and I want to float mount it on archival board. It has been rolled up for some time so I plan on placing glass on top of it for a while to help it flatten out. My problem with mounting it is to how to properly float it since the customer wants to see the entire piece. Would a couple of s-hinges with linen strips be enough to hold a piece this size? I am also concerned about the tree bark expanding and contracting too. Any suggestions from you Grumblers would be appreciated!
