french crackle embellishment??

hello all!

we just had a lady come in with a print that had what she called "french crackle embellishment" on it.

it was very textured and looked as though it was some sort of glue or paste on it that was very stiff and looked dabby - as though it was applied with a brush or sponge.

It looked great and I'd be interested in learning about it and giving it a try. Does anyone know where to look for this info, or how to do it?

Z Hardware Company, the makers of Z-Gel now has a crackle finish. I bought a starter kit from United and loved the results.

It is just one more thing to add to our repertoire.

I looks the best on prints with a very light or white background.

PS. I also remember seeing an antique wash that you could apply to give it an aged or sepia look being demonstrated in Vegas.
