This is a personal request. My wife and I were in Gatlinburg a year ago, and I saw a print that I wish I would have bought in this Civil War shop. To this day, I still want it. Does anybody know where I can get a print (from oil I think) of Scarlett O'Hara sitting on some steps (I think). It’s mostly gold with some super bright red (I think). Ok I don’t remember a whole lot about it but I want it anyway. Ideas?

Where's the shop? I've got to make a delivery to The Peddler Restaurant in Gatlinburg next week.

Betty

It is in that big mass of outdoor shops in the middle of the "Y". Do you know where I'm talking about? I'm thinking across the street from Ripley's Moving theater and Haunted house.

Yeah, I know where that is. It's near the Arrowcraft shop (Southern Highlands Craft Guild gift shop.)

Do you want me to look and see if it's still available? Do you want just a print? Who's gonna do the framing for you....

Betty

Betty, while you're in Gatlinburg, if you notice a hubcap from a 1970 Volkswagen Beetle laying on the side of the rode, would you pick it up and sent it to me?

I don't have the Bug anymore, but the hubcap would make a lovely memento of my trip to the Smokies.

I'd probably frame it.

Ron, just let me look down in the barn. I'm sure Joe, Jr has picked up one off the side of the road at some point in time...

bet

Yes just a print. When we were there, they didn't even have one framed but I know this poor sucker that does some pretty good framing for almost nothing.

If it's availible get them down about 20% and email me their information please. I'll call and order it. I think they do some shipping as many people don't want to carry art in their suitcase.

I can't find it by Mort Kunstler.

You mean haggle??? Sorry I don't do that.

No offence, but I don't want it done, and I don't do it with someone else.

However, if they need something that I can do, perhaps we can barter something. Then you'd really owe me big-time! :D

Betty

Well I can't owe anybody. Actually I don't have the slightest clue what they even wanted for it. I have a feeling that there was only two reasons that I don't own it right now.

1 It was to expencive.
2 I didn't want to ruin it.

The problem is that I didn't even write the name of it down nor have I seen it sence.

I would bet a hundred dollar bill that you will hit them up for framing while you're there wont you?

Thanks, Betty, but I was hoping for a particular 1970 Beetle hubcap - the one I left in Gatlinburg in July of 1973.

I'm sure it's still there. I don't remember the name of the street, but it was on a hill. I remember that 'cause the starter was out on the Bug and we ALWAYS stopped at the top of a hill. (I had to avoid Illinois altogether.)

While my best friend was jumping into the car after giving it a little push, the hubcap popped off. My friend said, "Well, we're not going BACK FOR IT!" so we didn't.

I hope you find your print, Jay. I know how devastating it can be we you pass up an opportunity like that.

 :D

Ron, Joe goes to Gatlinburg to hang out quite often, it could very well be yours... oh wait, he wasn't born until 1982.

I'll see how rusted it is...

And, uh, it is in the Great Smoky Mountains. There are a few hills...

Betty

Thanks Jerry they did have it. It by Jeff Barson called The Staircase. They also have some pretty inspiring framing on their website.

What do you know .... right there in my print bin too! Interested in a dealer split?

Jay -- Did you get my e-mail responses to your inquiry about pricing? You still interested or should I put it back in the print bins?

You took it out???? Anyway I will let you know soon. I inquire sometimes and act a few weeks later. I'm the opposite of impulsive. I'm just finishing my website and started a thread about it a month ago.

Ron told me about Z-Gel 2 weeks ago and I just ordered it today. So I'll get back to you soon. Thanks a million for your offer to. I'll likely call when I'm ready!
