So, the customer gave me a paper grocery bag full of wine corks...we chose a lovely frame that is deep enough to accomodate the corks without cutting in half. My plan is to make the frame, attach a masonite backer board, layout the corks in a pleasing pattern and start gluing.

My question is what adhesive to use---regular old framing glue? That would certainly be easiest. Silicone? Please dont tell me hot glue because I am too messy with that stuff--never got the hang of it.

This particular customer tends to move around a lot and will be moving from our area probably this summer. So think moving truck, storage locker, temperature changes.
Design is something like this pic I stole from pintrest to give an idea. ours will be smaller.

Hi there, I once did something like what you're describing and I used plywood rather than masonite because it doesn't bow like masonite. I can't remember what thickness I used, probably 1/4". I'm pretty sure "E-6000" is what I used as the adhesive, and it looks the same now as it did when I made it....about 20 years ago. You could probably use epoxy to adhere them as well. You can get really creative with all sorts of designs using corks...if you have the time.
