This is a conceptual video to play in the store to help people recall important events in their lives and hopefully decide to frame them.

Nicely done video, is that yours?

Loreena McKennet, "Dante's Prayer."

I like it a lot! Well done!

Thanks osgood.

The hardest thing about retail business isn't making the sale, its getting customers into the store in the first place, so we're trying different ways to reach out to customers, online, in store promo videos [that can be viewed from outside the store, and if any of those work maybe a local TV commercial, but we're going to take it one step at a time.

This was the first video, other than the WCAF Vegas trade show video, that we put online, we wanted to see what sort of reaction we might get to it.

Interestingly, the response to this video has been huge, it hasn't gone viral or anything but it was viewed almost 2000 times in the first two days and there has been a lot of positive feedback, people even asked permission to put it on their Facebook page, we don't have one.

What I find interesting about this experience is that the lack of feedback from The Grumble, the one place I expected to hear something from my peers. At least most everyone here would know which frames were used?

I like your video a lot! Is there any way that you'll be able to gage its effect on sales?

All I can say is that if I was a customer in you store and saw this video, I would be back next week with all my memories.

Very nicely done, and very professional.

Keep us posted on how it goes.

Great video. How do you use it in the store? Do you just play it on a loop or do you have other videos that you play as well? I'm just thinking even though it is an awesome video after the twentieth time in a row I might go crazy, or is the place where it's playing seperate from your work area?

OK, first off, I really like the video from an artistic stand point.

That being said, I don't see this showing framing memories as much as framing lcd screens.

okay, so I needed a tissue after that one! very powerful. I agree with Dave that LCD screens came to mind, however with the right caption it can get the message across.

I would like to post it to my facebook, with your permission. Let me know.

I like your video, but like Dave said, seeing all the frames hanging on the wall with their "pictures" moving reminds me of a bunch of TV sets playing at once.

I guess I'm more of a static person when it comes to what is framed and hanging on the wall.

Was the length of the video dependent on the length of the music? When I view something like this, I usually stay more focused on the video when there is no vocal.

Just my thoughts

Thanks for the feedback. Feel free to post this to Facebook, download it or do just about anything you want with it, that's why its online.

We have about 30 videos like this that we rotate through, a big enough of a variety that it doesn't drive anyone crazy. Our Gallery is divided into retail space in front and workspace in the back, obviously the flat panel display is up front where it can also be seen from the outside. Looks great at night.

I'm curious, how many of your memories are still pictures?

If you'd like to think of them as LCD screens that's cool, they're framed LCD screens starting at $1500 per screen. On average framing flat panels is generally a high ticket order and we have done quite a few.

The length was determined by the music, however the original song was about seven minutes so it was edited to about four minutes. The words for this video actually had meaning for us, our 15 year old Australian shepherd had just passed away, this was kind of a eulogy [we don't tell people that] but everything in this video is of our family, so for customers who know us it can make for interesting conversation.

I don't know what its like elsewhere, but in Southern California if the economy got any slower it would go backwards. Although our average ticket price is holding the number of transactions has fallen off significantly so we're just trying anything we can think of to get people's attention to hopefully get them into the store.

Very nice indeed - I would share what others said though. The video screens take away from the effect!

I am just trying to figure out what is in the top right corner video at 3:31?

That was video from a Pinup shoot we did for a customer who collects cars. So from that shoot we produced the video and framed approximately ten pinup type posters.

If you look closely at some of the different videos you might be surprised at what you find...
