Got my largest framing order a few days ago. A nascar flag measuring 60 x 36 inches.

The lady who brought it in also brought with her a piece of plexi that size. Very thin, 1/8th inch. She was determined to keep the price low. Fine with me.

I picked up two pieces of OS foam board today and i'm ready to go.

I asked her if it would be okay for me to mount the flag on the board cut to 58 x 34 inches to allow an inch overlap for easier mounting. No problem.

What is the best way to mount this? And what do I need to keep in mind while doing it?

Will the plexi bow out? or does it really not matter because the flag will be hung vertical on a wall. If this is an issue can I glue the glass in?

Cut the boards 36x60

mount flag to face with Attach-Eze

1/4 frame space... seal it up and take the money to the bank during lunch.

You call that a big flag?

I am working on a flag 108 x 58...using 1/4 inch plexi weighing at 60 lbs, among other heavies.

It is giving us lots of new and crazy ideas, between the heart attack fits....

Ugh,

I hope the plexi she brought you still has the protective paper ... or you will have scratches and spend a whole lot of time trying to get dust free.

Optimally, you want to stich down to acid free backing with extra space around so that the spacers do not touch the flag. This is starting to sound like the movie poster thread....

Or you can do as Baer Charlton suggested or you can just sandwich it up against the plexi, depending on what your customer wants....

Best way- stitch down to acid free backing or mat, preferably fabric to provide some "tooth", this float should have at least an inch around and than space off the plexi...

I recall discussing our oversized flag projects before--been there, done that, don't really want to do it again
