My first time posting in this section, so please forgive the fact that it's
not a perfect photo. Several years ago, my aunt had me frame this as
a gift for Mom.

They redid the kitchen in my great great grandparents' house and found five layers of wallpaper.
She wanted me to combine the remnants with photos of family members. The mottled area at
upper right is a piece of wallpaper that I cut a window and part of an oval in, then put photos behind
it. Then I cut a tiny oval mat for the photo of my great grandmother and attached it to the front
of that same piece down below. Used spacers between the glass and mat.

P.S. The center photo is of my great great grandmother,
with her daughters, Helen and Christine. Helen, on the
right, was my great grandmother. Here's a photo of how
it looks over the buffet.

Very, very nice......

Just visited my Grandparents the other day, (they are in a nursing home, 93 and 88 years of age), makes me think of doing something like this. So much history there......

I love how you incorporated the wallpaper into the piece. It won't mean anything to anyone except for family who lived with those layers of wallpaper.

I went to visit the house where my grandparents had lived for many years from my birth until their deaths when I was in my early twenties. I guess I was able to convince the new owners that I was not a dangerous lunatic because they let me inside to roam around and even go upstairs. The new owners had done a lot of painting and remodeling but the ivy wallpaper was still in the stairway and I will never forget how I felt when I saw it.

Good job.

Roots run deep... into the heart.

It's just BEAUTIFUL.

The pieces that become most dear are the ones that incorporate more than just a snapshot.

Not only is it a very eye pleasing design, but you get a beautiful little peek at something your g-g-Grandmother got to see herself. The ovals keep it soft and very feminine.

It's like a little time capsule. :)

I'd LOVE to see the images of her closer up. I've always been fascinated with family resemblances and older hairstyles, etc
