Question Framing Antique evening gloves

First of all, welcome to the G! ( a lurker there for a while, I see :p )

I think that an arrangement where some are crossed or layered in a natural way would look most pleasing. Adding some internal padding would keep them from looking so flat an uninteresting as well. Maybe show the back of one and the front of another.

For a really interesting shadowbox display you could source some various shapes of hands, such as these and display the gloves. Some on the hand, some just draped. There are all sorts of interesting jewelry/mannequin hands to be had. You might even cut some if you have access to a CMC.

I once framed two pairs of Jerry Rices autographed game gloves. They were set in a shadow box with suede mats in the 49'er colors, red and gold. I stuffed some kind of tissue paper into each finger and arranged them as if they were in mid-catch. Did some micro-stitching through the back of the gloves and mat to hold them in place. That was about 10 years ago, saw them a few months back, they piece still look awesome...wish I had pics, it was pre-digital photography.
Evening gloves are likely much more delicate than football game gloves, but something along those lines might work...

Welcome and good luck.

You don't say whether they are cafe skin, silk, or flax and then there is lace, plain, embroidered, or beaded. Each would call for different display and attachment.

I would start with a triple bay; set of three tray or diarama mats with appropriate backgrounding brought together with a neutral master or universal mat may do the trick here. The tuff part would be the neutralness of the "universal" mat that would tie the three together as well as the frame.
