Question Framing a book?

A customer brought in a hardcover book she'd like framed in a shadow box, just sentimental value, but she doesn't want the book damaged. I'm planning on covering foam core with linen and cutting a hole in the middle to sink the book into, and then insert a strip of 2-ply behind the back cover to hold the book in place. How can I secure the book pages so they stay flat and the cover doesn't open? There will be about a 1/2" space between the book cover and the glazing.
Try the Clear Film Book Mount. No adhesives in direct contact, completely reversible, shows all 4 sides as well as the cover, and if needed, provides support for a weak binding. And it's easy to make. Detailed instructions are in the shadowbox book, the DCO book, and in a number of Grumble threads. Search the Grumble archives for "clear film book mount" or "book mount".
