I'm off to Florida For n Sun. Be back in a week. I just backup everything. If any other grumblers are at Fun n Sun I'll be hanging out at the medical center with some old friends.

Most airplane pilots know what this is. For those that don't Sun n Fun is one of the largest airshows in the country.

I'm Back!!!!

JRB, you will be jealous, I got 15 minutes of aerobatic instruction in a Pitts S-2C and then a 15 minutes ride of my life from a professional airshow pilot. You haven't lived til you've experienced a lomchevak. I'm still about 3000 feet above the ground.

Tomorrow I go back to my boring framing job. Got to start planning that next vacation right away.

AYE!!

Tell about the manuevers you did framer.

Pitts are just about the coolest planes there are.

Framer, I think you need to come to the EAA Convention in Oshkosh this summer, about 20 miles from here.

The extent of my aviation experience was throwing paper airplanes in junior high math class, but I guess this convention is a pretty big deal.

Bill, you are right, I am jealous, big time.

I have been bird dogging used taildragers but that's about it. I don't know what my next step after my ticket is going to be, more than likely IFR after that aerobatic, maybe.

I have to take it one step at a time. I was flinging the bull about buying with a group at my FBO. They all think I should have at least 100 hrs after my ticket before I buy, I think I concur. I told them that most things in my life seem to just come into it. If I am meant to own an airplane, one will come along.

Can not wait to do a major fly in, see what it is all about.

All I tried were a few aileron rolls, snap rolls, inside loop, and flying inverted. My instructor demonstrated Hammerhead, double hammerhead, 4 point roll, 8 point roll, barrel roll, knife-edge, vertical aileron roll and a lomchevak. I think there might have been a couple of others but my minds fuzzy about some of it.

I now sit at my desk in the shop thinking about cutting my first frame of the day.

JRB, get the instrument rating 1st.

Just took my first ground school official test, first phase of the school. I GOT 92%!!!!!! I'M ONE HAPPY CAMPER! ( Or Jr. airman ) That was about two hours ago. Didn't think I would do all that well.

Still doing the dance with the FAA on my class 3 physical, sent them a bunch more test results yesterday. Definitely have my fingers crossed. I called AOPA and they said I should be just fine, even told me I can get my commercial rating, if I want. Have to wait and see what FAA says.
