Frank's Fabrics is the best! We got this red fabric from Frank, and we wrapped and embossed the mats, backing and sides for this shadowbox project. LJ Frame and Museum Glass!

Beautiful job! Very creative & tasteful embossing. How did you do the attaching of the flag & jacket? How many hours did it take you to complete? Looks like the kind of job where you'd better have some tissues on hand for the unveiling.

Yeah, I was kind of thinking that too.
As far as the hours, I didn't really keep track, but I would say easily 16-24 hours - maybe even more with the fabric wrapped matting, embossing, and building the box the way we did it, mounting, stitching, etc...

The Flag was Stitched to the backing board.

The leather jacket: My goal was to mount it without causing any damage to it. So I couldn't stitch, adhere or wire it to anything. I cut a "form" to fit inside the jacket from 8-ply matboard, mounted a 2" x 3" wood block to the back of the form at the top and then basically zipped the jacket up around the form leaving a bit of it open for the wood block to show through. After wrapping the backing board (one layer of 4-ply mat (to create the emboss) and 1 layer of 8-ply matboard) I was able to screw through the backing board from behind and into the wood block securing the form (and the jacket) to the backboard.

I would say that this was one of the most complicated projects I have done, and I really enjoyed every moment of it... except when we got some glue on the fabric where we shouldn't have, and needed to redo part of it. ;D

Oh, and a plug for Wizard too - I couldn't have done all those cuts (for the embossing) without the Wizard CMC!

Gorgeous job. Tasteful design and nice workmanship. Just curious about the price charged, especially for all the labor time.
