Hey Grumblers!

I've got another question for all of you. Has anyone ever seen a book or even a web site of cutting different angles on frames. I have had quite a bit of time on my hands and I am taking advantage of it and practicing the wonderful world of moulding cutting. I have seen pictures of mouldings from all the framing magazines and I tried to do the angles but for the life of me I could not figure them out.

Barton's Multi-Angle Framing Guide by Glen Barton.

Purchased mine from the PPFA bookstore.

Try www.1728.com. Just remember that your cutting angle will be half of the total angle (i.e. total angle = 90 deg., cutting angle = 45 deg.). Also remember that in any enclosed shape the sum of all angles will equal 360 deg.

Hope this helps.

m_lewisjr,

Go with Roxanne Langley's advise, and order the Barton Multi-angle Framing Guide! It's 104 pages of projects and tables that not only spell out the required angles, but provide the various segment lengths as well.

The into section also provides Tips on Assembling, Tolerances, and calculating dimensions. Well worth the $35 investment. You can order it online at Picture Framing Magazine Bookstore. I would also expect Decor's Bookstore to have it at the upcoming Decor Expo Atlanta as well.

Regards,

John
