Forbidden Foamboard

Orton, On different occasions under different topics and in different forums you have stated that we should not use foamboard on any work. The first time I heard you mention it I had just bought a case of acid free foam board. Since that moment several months ago the case has been just sitting here in the corner...waiting...for a reason(s) to exist. Could you expound on the evils of foamboard or at least refer me to the source of your concerns so I can discover this myself?

Now I want to know. The Home Book Of Framing by KEnn Oberrecht says its used
commonly and in conservation matting. Is this so? What's the controversy?
