Here's an original oil I had picked up this morning which was a private commission for a collector in Colorado. It depicts
The Fredericksburg Campaign - December 1862

Sgt. Richard Kirkland - The Angel of Marye's Heights.

The title is: "For I was Thirsty"
Artist: Nathan Greene
Medium: Oil on stretched linen
Image Size: 42" X 54"
Frame: Biltmore #822831
White gold leaf wood nameplate antiqued with several coats of garnet shellac

For those not familiar with the astounding tale of mercy by this 19 year old confederate soldier here is a synopsis:

Amazing story.

for anyone interested giclee prints will be available soon.

Oh wow, it's beautiful! I mean that aesthetically and in content. It reminds me a of WWI story when German and Allied forces paused their fighting to observe Christmas:

Nicely done, the design could have easily become too heavy handed.

DAVE!!! You are a master.....this is truly a wonderful painting and frame job!!!!! ;)

Great choice of frame.
Overall, I wasn't too thrilled with the finishes on the Biltmores. They seemed rough, and to exude a feel that is whatever is the opposite of "lively". I only displayed a couple of the smaller profiles. However, you have shown that there is "a lid for every pot", as this frame seems ideally suited to the theme, mood, and level of detail in the painting. Great work.
 Rick
