I bought the Attach EZ mounting tools to do jerseys. In all of Pat’s videos, she said the fasteners embed themselves in the 1/8” acid free foam board. My 1/8” fasteners go all the way through the foam board and never embed themselves in the foam board.
Has anyone else experienced this or have a solution?

If you don’t use the MicroTach tool, how else do you mount jerseys to the inner foam board in the jersey?

There is nothing wrong with the tag ends going all the way through the board and expanding on the other side. Just make sure they don't go through the fabric where they would be visible in the frame.
When inserting them from the back (such as folding up the bottom of the jersey, just pull the fabric away from the needle a bit before pulling the trigger. Choose the proper tag length so that it goes all the way through but not far beyond, so you get a good grip.

For the very short tags, I mount directly to a mat board, and have foam behind that as support.
