I recently switched from frameless mounting on foam core to using Mighty Core instead due to the bowing problems of foam core without the structure of a frame. I've always used these hangers before:

I would reinforce the prongs by putting a mylar tape across the hanger and burnishing well.

Recently I've had several come back where the hanger did not hold into the surface. I've taken to inserting the hanger with a bit of Frank's Fabric adhesive underneath it as I push down the middle prong. I'll still use a cross section of tape too. Gluing is an extra step, but I guess it's necessary with these hangers and Mighty Core.

Thought I'd make others aware of the problem.

I use a piece of tape between the hanger and the Mighty Core surface too. For really heavy mounts, I use small fender washers about the size of a quarter on both sides of the Mighty Core with a flat head machine screw with a nut on the other side holding a regular one-hole wood frame hanger in place. AS long as the screw/washer is raised 1/16" or less on the art side, it doesn't affect the float mount. You can use 1-ply rag to cover up the hardware too. If it is a dry-mount requiring a smooth surface, that's a different story.
